On 13-15 October 2017, #DialogueOnEurope contributors from eight European countries will meet in Rome for the third and last European Thinking Lab Summit. This three-day meeting will give them the opportunity to further discuss the four main topics of the project, namely Migration & Integration, Populism, Social Cohesion and Sustainable Growth, and to finalise their policy recommendations for European decision-makers through various work and exchange sessions.
The Thinking Labs started with an Opening Conference in the German Federal Foreign Office on 28 June 2016 and a first meeting on the following day. Since then, the contributors of the Thinking Labs have been producing studies on various issues, including country reports and best practice analyses. Within the last twelve months, they gathered twice to exchange views on their first results: The first summit took place in Lisbon in November 2016, and the second ETLS was held in Paris in March 2017. This time, the summit will take place in the beautiful city of Rome, which already hosted a Town Hall Meeting in April 2016. The participants will meet at the conference centre La Casa Internazionale delle Donne, in the vibrant neighbourhood of Trastevere.
The #DialogueOnEurope contributors will have six productive work sessions throughout the week-end. In addition to finalising their policy recommendations, they will address the issues of outreach and communication of the results. Two Thinking Labs have also invited external experts to share their experience and knowledge, and to comment on their work.
Several interviews and analyses have already been published on the #DialogueOnEurope platform within the last months. Outcome documents with more detailed results will come soon.
