Eduardo Suarez is a reporter for the Hispanic news channel Univision. He gained his experience working as foreign correspondent for the Spanish newspaper “El Mundo” in London, New York and Brussels. Eduardo is also a co-founder of “El Español”, a Spanish online newspaper and the founder of Politibot, a programme reporting on the recent Spanish elections. Furthermore he has published two books on US politics. Eduardo has studied Communication and Journalism in Salamanca.

Long considered as an emigration country, Greece started receiving immigrants in the 90’s. Over the last few years, the country had to deal with huge number of newcomers and despite the engagement of the social society, it doesn’t have the means to properly assist them. Greek authorities repeatedly asked for the support of the other European member states, which are reluctant to take responsibility.

The Thinking Lab on Populism is dealing with one of the fastest growing phenomena in current European politics. Well known in other parts of the world, such as Latin America, the concept of populism is still an unclear one. While many experts and journalists characterize very heterogenous political movements such as Podemos on the one hand, and far right protest movements like the German Alternative für Deutschland, as being populist, the Thinking Lab is benefiting from a broader view on the matter and will try to bring clarity into the debate.
