Isabelle Maras is an expert of the EU foreign policy and on EU security and defence issues. She is research associate at the CIFE (Centre international de formation européenne, Nice/Berlin). She successively gained experience in the European affairs field in Brussels, in academia at the IFSH (Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy) in Hamburg and, more recently, at the Foundation Genshagen (nearby Berlin) where she was project leader „European Dialogue“ from 2013 to 2016. Isabelle studied political science, international relations and European politics in Lyon, Brussels and Hamburg.

16 engaged Europeans for concrete solutions to the refugee crisis and beyond
The Thinking Lab on Migration & Integration focuses on one of the most crucial challenges currently faced by the European Union. Within one year, based on the diverse experiences Southern European countries and Germany have so far gathered, the Lab will deliver a genuine European perspective on migration and integration policy. The concept of “people on the move” rather than “refugees” or “migrants” remains the center of the debate.
